    Hey all,

I cant seem to get constant fps in games. for example, BF4 sets it on high by auto. i get around 40 fps with that at the start, even if im playing a map full of dust and explosions. then cpu heats up to around 83c and fps goes down to 24. same thing with medium settings. great at start, but cpu heating up means it dips.

now if i minimize game, browse for few secs, get game back up, and it will run fine again for few mins. gpu stays at around 60c

both gpu and cpu were repasted recently. had high temps back with 260m , but 670mx runs much cooler, so it cant be that. i know 8201m isnt the best cpu, but shouldnt cpu start throttle at 90c+ ish? any help is welcome

    thanks

how fast is the airflow out of cpu side of the laptop? right now all i can feel is radiating heat, rather then flow of air. gpu has an actual wind blowing out, but not cpu. fan is spinning and left side is rly hot

Run gpu-z with logging while you play, then you can see what the card was doing when you get back to desktop.

just played bf4 with logging in hwinfo. managed around 1h at 720p high settings with 40-60fps. then game loaded another mission indoors, then i opened door to a town/jungle place, and fps dipped to 18-23. temps were around 80 whole game, but then it went up to 85, thus the fps dip. attached log, if you can see something i dont. view with word wrap off

I would recommend you to re-paste the GPU with some good quality thermal compound.

gpu is fine, it never gets past 70c on heaviest of games. and i used as5 or mx-2, both of which are quality products

got new thermal pads, can now run cod ghosts on 1080p medium settings at 40-60fps. cpu still gets to 80c but no fps drop. at least for this game
