Hey, I'm trying to reapply my thermal paste but noticed there's some sort of clear brown cover on the cpu cut out around the die. There's leftover factory thermal paste underneath it as well. Can I just completely take off this cover and leave it off?

Tried searching the threads about this but couldn't find anything.
