Just a thought, but would I be able to order an alienware M15x with ONLY the 1080p display and the graphics card? I don't want a hard drive, ram, or cpu, or wifi card. I'm looking to get a major discount off one so that I can custom build it myself.

I would try to order a barebones, like that, by telephone. Worded carefully.
My story would be 'Im upgrading my case and screen with parts I already own'.
See if Dell can help out a loyal customer.

If you're going to do that why not just order a Sager or Clevo barebones? I mean, unless you're preferential to the Flashy alienware look.

yeah, IMO, if it was the m17x, it would make sense, since nothing else short of the HP 8740w can compete against it's screen tech, but the m15x only has the AlienFX system over a Sager/Clevo barebones....
