Can't really answer that until it's released. Depends if it uses the API efficiently or not. I think it's going to be more gimmick than function, but that's just my feeling.

depends on how they implement it. if they add effects making the game look better, it may run similar or worse than now but look nicer.
however if they do not add effects it may run smoother while looking the same.

not really possible to answer without more info.

well obviously they're adding tessellation, which will probably reduce performance. Though not on the 260M, because it isn't designed for it.

    spot on.
however if enabling dx11 and disabling the tessellation feature is possible, we might see a slight performance increase, since there are various optimizations in dx11.

For me to be able to play this game on my desktop I have to disable my sli and turn off my phx card. I've built a monster desktop for playing games on my 3d projector but this game is too buggy and it makes me mad, I wasn't saying anything bad about you at all I just get angry about this game.

Tried it with DX11 for a while, really pushing my 6970m,FPS dropped quite a bit,but the most disturbing issue is mouse 2 aim has lagged significantly.I find the high resolution pack coupled with v-sync works much better.Anyone here experienced the same issue?

ouch yeah with a rig like that you'd expect it to be running smooth as.
i'm surprised it's giving such trouble on an sli/ppu config. one would think this is the market they're after with their reputation... instead they're going for a "crappy port" rep.

how well do you think a 5850 would do with both dx11 and the high res pack enabled?

IMO,not too well, even when heavily overclocked. My advice is just stick with the high res pack first,no point moving around in 20fps just to have nicer looking brick walls& water effects, especially the mouse 2 lag issue, totally kills the experience... :(

i have been playin crysis 2 on dx11 and high res with 5850, obviously had to lower the res to about 720, but im getting a nice 30fps, happy with that..

Me eyes are used to 60 fps though, which makes the Witcher 2 a pain to play sometimes too,bad framerate.

just tried it out. yeah my performance really takes a hit with dx 11 on. just wondering about the high res textures. would the high res textures + all graphics settings to high be the same as no high res textures and ultra settings? when i change the quality from lowest to highest in the game, i dont see a difference in the texture quality.

Yeah, cos it's just impossible to turn down the res on a 1080p unit....

when you lower the resolution it blurs stuff, kind of like cheat FSAA.
    doesn't look too bad actually.

also, i noticed with the 1080p screen (a friend of mine has the 900p) i don't need AA in most games since the dpi is quite high. the 900p needs it in order to look as good (totally subjective but my friend and i both agree). end result? 900p with AA performs about the same as 1080p without AA except i have extra screen space and the text is smaller.

In my opinion looking at text scaled down to 900p from 1080p looks blurred, but moving pictures, like graphics and film it's not noticeable at all.

But that's just in my opinion.

Agreed I have the 900p and need aa to make it look good. The reason 1080p scaled down to 900p looks blurry is because of overscan basically stretching 900p to the 1080p screen size. Since ith not 1:1 1080p has to fill in the blank pixels and basically its guessing what to fill in the blank spots.

K just broke down and brought the game. Got it up and running with the Dx11 and high resolution package install. At 900p, running at ultra with Dx11 and high resolution enable I got around 23-31fps which was kinda choppy. So I drop it down to extreme with Dx11 and high resolution package enable, I got an average of 37-45fps outside and 45-55fps inside. With big fire fight it drop down to around 28-30fps. I'm running all this with my 6970m overclocked to 750/950. From extreme and ultra I can't really see the differences.
