Hi guys,, been having a strange issue lately with my drive. For whatever reason whenever I come back to the laptop when its been shut or,, sometimes even as its re-booing back up from being in shut-down/sleep it will spit out the disc thats in the drive. Or when I come back and its lid is closed the disc will already be ejected?
So basically I think restarting or closing down is causing some sort of conflict with the drive.

When I put the disc back in it will either just spit it back out without reading it,, or if it takes it in it will make a churning sound for about a min as if its struggling to read it then everything is fine again,, until I close the lid lol.

I read an old link on here and on another forum I found online and as it was suggested there I tried loading a disc when it is in the Bios and it loaded then no problem. This suggested as per those threads that it a software issue as opposed to hardware,,, but I never came across any solution.

I also dont really use the drive that much as most of my games are on steam and movies etc are on my hard drive,,,, so its not been used much or had any problems whenever I have used it for the odd game before.

    Any suggestions ?

Does this happen with one specific disc or any disc you put in the drive?

Since Win10 is the only change you've done, I'd say that's the culprit but it could be that the drive is failing anyway. Since you don't use the drive, you may want to remove it and replace it with a hard drive caddy. Then you can add another drive to your system for extra storage. Those caddies are pretty cheap nowadays.
