    Hi Guys,

Quick Q... I'm replacing my DVD drive with a Blu-Ray ... just wondering do you definetely have to take the screen off as per the service manual instructions? I feel abit nervous about doing that part the rest is fine!

    Cheers,
    Rob :D

You shouldnt have to remove the screen, because that makes no sense. When I was looking the service manual to change out my gfx card and wifi card it was saying to remove my hdd and ram and some other things as well which I ignored, and everything is running as it should be.

In reality it should make it easier to work with if u do remove it since the wieght if the lcd will cause u some headaches and u run the risk of scratching your screen.....

Just wanted to throw that out there....

I replaced my DVD with a Blu-ray last night!! I didn't take the screen off but I did put the dust cloth cover that came with the lappie over the screen to protect it. All went without a hitch! It's working perfectly. One question though... I have arcsoft Totalmedia theater 5 and the picture a bit grainey with blu ray ( well all video forms) I also have PowerDVD 10Ultra which is awesome and crystal clear is there any other ones anyone would suggest?

    Thanks guys,
    Rob
