    I have a 1600x900 LCD. Which one is it? (WUXGA, WXGA, etc.)

    I have compared my current native resolution to a studio 1555 which has a native resolution of 1366x768. They look similar except the m15x's looks sharper and with better colour.

    My theory is, replace the 900p to a lower resolution LCD = games at higher settings + better framerates.

    Shine some light please :D . Thanks in advance

    the m15x lcd is a all in one piece, the lcd panel is attached to the plastic with the alienware logo, but you can change it to a 1080p panel if ou want

    1600x900 isn't a standard size like WUXGA (1920x1200) etc. You'd only be looking at physical screen size.

    What's the point of buying a £1000+ laptop if you're going to nerf the reason for buying it. It's not like playing games @ 1600x900 on medium/high settings is unplayable.

    WXGA = 1366x768
    WSXGA+ = 1600x1024
    WUXGA = 1920x1200

    its true with a lower res screen you'll get better fps. but why would you want to do that? you can always lower the settings on the games.

    max settings on a crappy screen will still look crappy.hahaha

    hehehe, that's right!

    And I have to say 900p gaming on a 1080p screen looks still great...

    That, I didn't know :p but im sure you can detach it somehow. but I could be wrong :D

    Well they're playable, but what if the m15x gets outdated soon and we ran out of gpu options? Hopefully TheWiz could solve that for us

    Yup, it does give better framerates, the same way we lower the graphics setting as well as the game resolution.

    The drawback of playing low-res on a higher native resolution lcd would mean; lots of jagged edge. And that's where the anti-alias comes to play, but that would definitely look crappy :p.

    The crappyness of the 1366x768 is still acceptable (at least for me) :D.

    Where can you buy a higher res screen for the M15x? I have a 900p right now looking to do some 1080p gaming though lol.
