So a while back I posted on here cause I was having issues with my display. The black pixels are covered in green mist and the white pixels are covered in pinkish mist. The only way to make it disappear is to prop the laptop up in a very specific and awkward way. After tearing the laptop apart and trying to find the source of this it finally went away. Not sure exactly what it was but I had to take the entire LCD off the laptop. Reconnect everything and for some reason it was gone. However now it's back.

I travel a lot so my laptop sits in a bags bumping around in vans, airplanes etc. That's when it reappeared so I'm think it must be a cable/connector that's coming loose.
Does anyone know exactly what is causing this? It's very frustrating and the thought of re-learning how to take the whole thing apart scares me since I have some very important video editing work I need to do on it within the next few weeks. If I break something inside I'll be screwed. Below I attached some pictures showing what it looks like. If anyone has any useful info or has experienced this I would greatly appreciate any help!

Did you ever try to connect an external monitor to determine if it's a gpu or display problem?

Last time it happened I swapped out my GPU and the problem was still there. So I don't think it's a GPU problem.

Try an external monitor, if it does not happen there then the issue is the LCD.

I'm positive it is the LCD. It must be a connector or a cable but the problem is there are so many going from the LCD to the MOBO. I don't' know which one it is. The only way to fix it last time was to remove the LCD completely from the laptop and reconnect everything. Which is very nerve wrecking since I'm not the most tech savy person. Terrified I might break something and be without this laptop (which I desperately need for my work right now)

A new LCD panel may fix the problem or it could be the motherboard connector which does seem very delicate. Could you possibly carry round a small usb-powered monitor? I know AOC do good usb-powered monitors.

How much do new LCD panels cost? I wish I could determine some how if it is the MOBO connector or the LCD panel.

A small usb monitor would be very difficult to work on seeing as how I do video editing and composing. I have trouble as it is with the size of the m15x screen.

I didn't mean a small usb monitor, you can get ones that are 18 inch or 21.5 inch!

Oh I see. I might have to do that eventually.
D'you know how much a new LCD panel would cost and if it is easy enough to install?

Great thanks. Did yours come with all new cables/wires going from the LCD to the motherboard?

Does anyone have any idea as to what connector this could possibly be? It's driving me nuts that I can't figure it out.

I really need some help with this guy's.
I just bought an alienware m15x lcd with all the cables going from the LCD to the mobo, swapped mine out and the problem is still there.
It must be something else then. But I have no idea what. I really need anyones help who might know.
The mist disappears sometimes if I prop the laptop up in an odd way but it comes back very easily. I'm really stressed as I have to complete a lot of video work on this laptop.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

I feel like it must be just one connector or cable that's loose but I have no idea which one. Ive swapped the GPU out and the problem persisted. I replaced the LCD now and the problem is still there. If I use an external monitor does that mean the mist will still show up on there?
