So, I have an Alienware M15x with a Displayport. I have some movies on my laptop, and would like to connect my M15x to my TV that has HDMI ports. I know that there are Displayport to HDMI adaptors, but I just want to find out if both sound and video would work properly. I have read some posts where users wouldn't hear sound or something :$

Thanks in advance for the help

Ya displayport will pass sound as well. Sometimes mine for some reason won't register as displayport being plugged in, so the sound will come out the built in speakers. I find a quick restart with the hdmi cord still plugged in fixes it.

Just buy a DP > HDMI cable, much cleaner solution.

I got two off eBay, Chinese seller. Really cheap and only like $10 shipping.
