Cant quite work out the motherboard model number for the m15x, using the usual CPUID/everest/device manager seems to only show its a PM55.
As such i cant tell if m15x is supported well enough in setFSB.

It is supported BUT it depends on your motherboard revision. there is a thread over here about that. You have o donate 500 yens to abo the maker of setfsb and then he will send you a key. But if you just purchased your m15x I highly doubt you will be able to OC (mine is like 1 month old and I cant OC :()

If you want CPU power, get a 920xm and use throttlestop.

I just tried SetFSB tonight, it worked on my M15x (ordered on 03/26/10). Pretty good improvement overall with it on.

No issues with turbo boost? I heard from several people that setFSB and intel's turbo boost have some issues together... did you deactivate turbo boost?

I couldnt tell you about the boosting, any way I could check? Overall it seems normal, a bit faster (CPUZ shows higher numbers). It is a bit wierd if you are playing a game on VSync, if you turn it off its usually normal.

    Steven I have A08.

I dunno, maybe by using throttlestop and making a logfile? People report that when using setFSB you have to overclock over the level of the turbo boost because the turboboost apparently won't kick in while using setFSB. If that's true you would have to overclock all four cores over the niveau which the turbo boost gives you with 4 cores to see an increase in performance, which may be difficult because of stability issues.
Maybe it's best to disable turbo boost in the bios while using setFSB to prevent problems.
However, I didn't try setFSB yet, that's just what I read a couple of times. Until now I'm perfectly fine with using TS for my 920xm, no need for setFSB with this processor. Unfortunately you can't really use TS to overclock with the non extreme processors.
