I posted about this a while ago, but I'm noticing it a lot more.
It's not just the speakers. If I have headphones plugged in I still get it.
It's usually only when I have a few programs open (this time: Maya 2012, After Effects CS5, Firefox - one tab open, Sticky Note, Explorer, iTunes)

It also happens when I copy large files.

Anyway, it's weird sounds... just electronic buzzes and the sound cutting out at different intervals... different time lengths.

It happens on any head/earphones I use and any speakers plugged in on native speakers.

I notice a CPU spike at each "buzz".

I am running McAfee... I hear that it's dodgy and may be the culprit...

Please help. It's a real pain. Especially that I'm finishing an animation project and need to focus on the audio a bit more.

Attached is a screenshot of the performance gadgets.
