I am about to add a 2nd HDD to my M15x by installing an optical bay caddy. I'd still like to be able to use the original slot-loading DVD burner on occasion but I can't seem to find an enclosure for it. I found a couple on e-bay but the seller advertises them as compatible with some Mac slot-loading drives so I'm a bit hesitant of those. Can anyone recommend me one?

I know that you can do an optical drive (HDD) replacement, but I don't know about keeping the optical drive. If I remember corrrectly it was using a caddy in the PLACE of the optical drive. And that it pretty much required taking the entire notebook apart. Sorry I can't be of help, but try a search for optical drive and see what that brings up.

Thanks guys. Think I'm just gonna get an external burner from Newegg for like $30. The enclosures usually cost around $20 anyway, and for $10 more, I'll just get a new drive and be done with it :D
