I am wondering if anyone has been able to get this game to run on their system? I have tried updating/uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, as well as the game itself multiple times.

The game installs and starts up just fine, but as soon as I hit "enter" at the main menu screen to start a new game, the game crashes with a Runtime Error.

    Exact message:

    Runtime Error!

    Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Fable III\Fable3.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information

Apparently quite a few people are having issues on their Alienware rigs, according to the Lionhead and Steam forums I have read. I have no idea what to do from here.

Mine runs fine i got m copy from steam, just guessing but maybe its got something to do with your command center profile if the problem is specific to Alienware because the game does use alien fx,Which is kinda cool,If you do get it running though expect to be playing on medium settings :S

I'm getting this same error on M11xR2. BUT the game runs on the integration graphics card. with many lags, of course.

EDIT: I fixed my problem by update my driver to 275.27.

I'm stupid. I got it working, very simple fix. I just updated the Command Center to the newest version and it works now. I may have also just got lucky. If someone else with this issue can try this and post back, that would definitely be great.

Bought my Fable III on Steam.
It runs well and I haven't had any trouble with it so far.
But bear in mind that 2 days before installing it I've done a clean install of Win7 64bit and (after having installed the chipset driver from dell.support website) - flashed :
    - BIOS to A09(from A07)
    - EC to 1.18 - there's a sticky on how to flash both - make sure to write down the command to flash the EC manually(posted by Revelator - still need to rep him for that)))
    - then installed the latest driver for my ATI 5850 and
    - flashed vBIOS - you can get the iso to flash vBIOS on dell support website.
Followed by installing a bunch of lesser drivers - all from dell website(never use the resource dvd).
I do realise that this is not a solution for any problems - just a confirmation that it works in these conditions.
Hope it is of any help)
