    Hi guys,

I have read that installing the Alienware command center from the recovery disks can fry your motherboard, but what i want to know is lets say i do a factory restore from my recovery disks and it automatically installs all the drivers and utilities including command center will that destroy my motherboard? Or does it only occur if you want to manually reinstall command center from the recovery disks ?

it depends on the cc version that you use to restore from, if its the same version cc as your current version then you should be fine, just don't go from new version back to an older version.

When running a restore, its restoring the partition as saved when the image was created. The restore is not running the installers individually, so the CC installer is not going to be checking/flashing the firmware of AlienFX.

Regardless, as inap mentioned, just DO NOT (NEVER) run an old version of the CC installer after the system has been updated. If you have more q's on this OP, please post them here:
