    Fan Issue Has me thinking...

    I love Alienware laptops and mine has been a beast... but damn...

    My Alienware is 18 months old. The GPU fan is going out. I talked to two different sales people... both of them told me they don't have replacement fans available for my model. I know this to be untrue as I had already spoken to someone a couple weeks ago about it.

    I finaly got a person who was able to order it.... for $58.52 (including shipping and tax) for a REFURBISHED fan. This does not include the heat sink or anything; just the fan.

    As someone who has cleaned my fan regularly over the past 18 months I know the size, weight, and build quality. Nothing about these fans says 60 bucks... not even for a new one, let alone one that they pulled from a broken machine and resold.

    Hmm - Here in the U.K. there are multiple replacement fans available online via ebay uk.
    m15x fan | eBay

    Some for as low as £10.

    I dont believe the M15x is dead just because it's out of production.
    And I would also go as far to say that I prefer it to the M14x.

    try looking in the NBR marketplace i think there were a couple of m15x being parted out.
