My gpu fan seems to have this problem where when I'm playing a game and it kicks into high mode to keep it cool like it should, but then when I leave the game it stays stuck in that high mode the entire time even when idling bringing the temp to like 40(which I'd totally be happy with), but the sound is pretty ing annoying. I remember installing some sort of program a year or so back where I could control the fan speeds according to what the temperature of my cpu and gpu were, but can't remember what it was called. Anyone know of any reliable ones that won't up and burn my cpu or gpu? Thanks.

hwinfo32 lets you control the fan speeds, and you can set it to start with windows so you don't have to do it repeatedly.

look in the 6970m thread, svl7 explains it in his post that starts the thread off.
