My specs are an i7 @ 720 and a 5850M overclocked to 5870M speeds. Overclocking makes no difference here, and seems neither does setting it to even the lowest resolution.

In certain areas the framerate will drop from a steady 60 FPS to an ugly steady 30 FPS. I've tried setting the process's priority to High, flipping on and off settings and I'm even playing at the lowest settings on the resolution lower than my native 1600x900. Any ideas why my setup can't handle this game?

Can anyone with similar or the same specs note how their rig is handling it? Would be much appreciated.

Is my rig just not powerful enough to handle it? Very confused.

I get this with almost all games.. mostly LOTR online, its horrid on that game. I have the I7 as well but with the gtx 260m. i will get nice/smooth 50-60 fps and next moment 30 fps, its quite annoying. when i put my hand on the back of the CPU its not even blowing out warm air or close, but my GPU feels like a freakin heater lol

I'm guessing you've got the newest drivers and such. Also, if you're peg legging that game I've heard there's problems like this due to lack of updates.

Through steam, I don't have any issues. Sounds like a Vsync thing off the top of my head, but if you've already tried that, then I'm out of ideas.
