Have any of you noticed that when you have the M15x on one power source (battery or PSU) while you Sleep or Hibernate if you come out of sleep or hibernation on the other power source it acts a little funky? Mine has been like this since I bought it and has stayed like this through many clean installs and new drivers. The biggest pain is that I can not adjust the brightness after it happens. Not with the keyboard combo (fn+F4/F5) because OSD comes up and pretends to adjust it but it doesn't do anything. Same thing happens if I adjust it through windows' settings.

For me, I have it set not to go into standby while plugged in, even if I close the lid.

To regain brightness control, close the screen for moment, re-open it, and you should have brightness control again!

That doesn't seem to do the trick... It's not a matter of it going into standby or not, I force my computer to hibernate sometimes so I can take it with me but when I start it back up it on battery it doesn't work properly. I have to restart it OR I can put it back in hibernation, plug it in, then take it out of hibernation and all will be well. Weird.

Did you try to re-create the problem?

Yes! Im having the same problem, but it happens only if I sleep it while plugged in and wake it up without AC (screen brightness stays MAX and drains the battery very quickly) OR when i sleep it without AC and wake it up plugged in (Screen brightness remains low). Only solution is to restart. :S Power drain trick didnt work.

I think this may be a widespread issue. Maybe not everybody, but probably most. I may make a call to Dell and see if their wonderful support knows anything.

mmhhh... I *might* have the same issue... not sure...

lots of time I hibernate from AC, and resume from battery. And sometimes I can't adjust brightness (not from keyboard or GUI)...

but I never checked if both situations correlate... I'll put more attention to it...

always had this problem, even in my older inspiron 1720, not sure what causes it, but i know how i fix it.

my lid/screen is set to do nothing when i close the lid, when the problem happens i just close the lid and open it again, it takes less 2 seconds and i get the controls back immediately so not a big inconvenience.

the other way i know of is to restart.

No, but I hibernate when plugged in, and wake it up on battery all the time. I've never had this happen to me. I can post some power options, or w/e you need if you want me to.

I would just really like to fix the problem. It gets somewhat irritating over time.
