Hey i saw a lot forums with GTX260m overheating issues. I also have the same problem. It hovers around 95C - 100C when I am playing Starcraft 2. And I am also using a Zalman cooler, and it hasn't brought any temperatures down.

Now I see people saying they use OCZ freeze or AS5. I have an OCZ freeze coming in a couple of days. But I never see anyone posting about it after? Haha. I just want to know how many degrees does it cool off by? Thanks.

I used Freeze when I had the 260. Temps never reached above 80 when gaming, and it usually idled around 45. If it's still getting hot after you apply the new paste, maybe there's another issue, like your GPU fan not working properly.

Hey, thanks for your insight. :)

My GPU FAN when I'm playing SC2 HWiNFO32 reports its moving around 4500-4700RPM.

Do you have any guides to put on the paste for the m15x? Because the ones on youtube aren't for the m15x, and it seems like there are a lot of screws.

    Any help is appreciated! thanks!

    M15x thermal paste thread:

As far as applying the paste, you'll hear many versions of the "right way" of doing it. What's worked best for me is just cleaning the old paste off with some q-tips and rubbing alcohol, then just dropping a squirt of paste on the center of the chip about the size of a grain of rice. Then just drop the heatsink in place and press down on it a bit before securing the screws. If you want to check how good the paste has spread, just remove the heatsink again. You should see a square imprint of the entire GPU Die on the heatsink.

I had the same issues with SC2 and just repasted today with AS-5 following Inap's guide and it was much easier than I expected and got instant results. Also updating the Bios seemed to help quite a bit too with FPS....goodluck!
