My m15x should be coming in the mail soon. Im gonna swap the 5730 for a 5850. So I was wondering what games I should get to put it to the test.

PS. Ive never played a game on a pc in my life. But i don't want to play games that are too old. And please don't recommend valve games because I already know about them.

PSS. I want amazing games with great mod support.

    Thank you

You should probably be a bit more specific, do you want games from a particular genre?

Grats on the purchase. Your 5850 will handle nearly all games at a high setting.

As for games, it all depends which genres you like. Newer games that I'm currently playing are:

    - Starcraft 2
    - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (will definitely put your laptop to the test)
    - Civilization V
    - Rift / WoW
    - Need4Speed: Hot Pursuit (love racing with Drum & Bass full blast!)

    I'd recommend any of them.

Do you guys know if using the thermal pads from the 5730 on the 5850 will cause problems?

^^ you'll have to use the same size pads that the 5850 used in the same places!

    Dragon Age: Orgins
    Crysis 2
    Mass Effect 1 and 2
    Super Meat Boy
    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    Civ 5
    Minecraft

Not all of those are good to put your system to the test, but they are all amazing PC games. If you want games with great mods, you will want to try out Elder Scrolls IV and Minecraft.

    Crysis 2
Civilization 5 (Literally, I started playing at like 11 and its now 3 and it feels like an hour such a good game.)
    Not anymore but:
    Sims 3
    Oblivion
    Bulletstorm
If you want a free MMORPG:
Guild Wars, although you have to buy the game disc but online play is totally free.
And your M15X might not be able to handle these but: Minecraft and Minesweeper *jokes*

Steam sales are awesome. Especially when they offer entire series for less than the cost of the latest game. Anyone playing portal 2?

I have a quick kind of stupid question.

How many games do you guys have installed at once on your system? Right now I have Crysis 2, Portal 2 and Left for Dead 2. Im thinking of getting Mass effect 2 for my Alienware, but I dont know how many games I should have installed at once.

well it depends on how many you play and how much space you need on reserve.

i have around 26 steam games installed on my system out of a collection of 185. most of those are quite small (like super meat boy and cogs) and others have massive replay value (mass effect, dragons age).. others in the process of beating (back to the future series)

    @taylrjones
yes played portal 2, beat single and coop. trying to resist urge buying all the crap in the store for my bots.

Well the game that i can Really recommend for PC which has great mod support is Stalker Call of Pripyat. You can mod it to look almost as good as crysis! And the game itself is tons of fun!
