My system has some hardware issues and I have called tech support several times over the past few months. The calls generally last over an hour (most of the time on hold) and they make me do the same stupid tests. In the end they decide they are going to replace something (a stick of ram, a fan, etc) and it is ridiculous because these have nothing to do with the problem. I just got off the phone with a rep who had me on hold for over 1.5hrs and I really cannot deal with this. I do not have the time to deal with these games they play. Is there someone I can email or call that will actually take care of the problem and not jerk me around?

M15x. Something is up with the CPU. It is stuck at ~900Mhz regardless of SM being on or off. Regardless the real issue is who can I contact at Dell?

What have you tried to try remedy this? Start putting down a list and I'm sure somebody can pinpoint the problem.

I've had the CPU stuck at 900 MHz once, but I did a restart and it fixed it. I think it was related to it being in power saver mode, and the cord being pulled out. I vaguely remember the latest bios addressing a similar issue.

I second this make sure you have the latest BIOS, and see if you still have the problem
