Hey all, so a while ago a friend of mine accidentally cracked the screen on my laptop. Luckily it was just the glass cover in front of the actual screen, and I'm in the midst of upgrading my laptop (still waiting on that 680m... if you remember me posting a while ago, well it's been complicated). I was wondering if you can replace just the glass cover on the screen, or if you have to replace the entire screen assembly.

I've looked around and most people have said you have to replace the whole thing, but then I found http://www.splusdirect.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3158 . They're out of stock though... but I'm still confused. The glass panel on my screen pretty much looks like it's glued on. I don't see any obvious screw holes or any way to remove it.

    Any info?

the glass screen cover (screen bezel)can be replaced on its own but boy they are hard to find !
most places that offer them are out of stock and second hand bezels have marks or scratches on them, ebay sell acouple but again they have scratches or other marks on them and its just as easy exchanging the whole screen assembley.

the link you provided is for the older m15x the area-51 not the dell version which nodoubt you have since you are trying to put a NVidia 680 into it.
the bezel you require is here Dell Alienware M15x LCD Front Bezel B2625110G00017
    hope this info helps you.

Ahh, excellent! Thanks for your help! I figured it was possible, but just wanted to make sure before I dropped some money on it.

It is replaceable, but the problem is finding the part. You may try Ztronics.com
