So I was trying to close my window above my desk but my cell phone was in my hand. My cell phone has a rubber gel case over it and it was in my hand so I had to put it down haha. I was standing up right at my chair were my M15X is located on my desk but clumsy me let go of my phone and it dropped from chest to neck high onto the glossy dark black plastic were the volume buttons are. I am typing on my M15X as week speak do you think I physically hurt anything at all or messed up anything inside? how would I know if something was damaged or hurt? I mean everything seems to be normal and working as intended nothing weird is going on. Externally everything is 100% fine.
    Thanks,
    Justin.

You should be fine, this is a pretty durable machine ;) The HDD is the only thing that could be damaged by an impact, and that's under the touchpad, but that's beside the point- a drop from a cellphone wouldn't hurt the HDD anyway. Don't worry, your rig is fine :)

As Jwest said, you should be fine. There's like 3mm thick magnesium alloy under the touch-controls. Nothing but cosmestic damage to the plastic should be expect.

So like the only real way I can really F up! this laptop is by dropping it...which I will never do because its always on a desk or drinking something and spilling it? which i'll never be drinking anything near it. Also do you guys play WoW at all because I was just in games for a few minutes the CPU is not overclock or anything and it says 58C and 59C HWmonitor is that normal on this I7 740QM? why is it running that hot? Also I got a lag spike for about 5 secs while in a major city on a populated server. If you guys play WoW what frames do you guys get in major cities maybe I should just turn down all the settings for WoW in Busy Areas? Running at Ultra settings.

58C doesn't seem abnormal. It's near what my m11x R2 gets to on idle, before the fan kicks in to move down to 40C, then it slowly creeps back up...

At any rate, it's probably a bad TIM application.

Bad thermal paste for easy understanding. If u're worrying abt the temp, try applying new paste. Arctic cooling mx-4 is recommended

yeah, just poor application of Thermal Interface Material (Thermal Paste :)) can cause somewhat bad temps. Though normally only around the 5-6C range. I've seen really bad TIM applications cause a 10C rise in temps, however (Sharp PC... I'm looking at you).

Thank you. It does not happen to cause any driver conflicts with any program does it?

How dense??? I think the problem is wow and the internet connection. And yep, you cam easily apply thermal paste but if you're not familiar with it, make sure the paste is non-conductive before proceeding for it'll be safer if u screwed up during the process

Like very dense main area of city and the 2nd highest population of any city in WoW(Orgrimmar), and one of the most populated servers in WoW. Guess I just answered my question?LOL...and as far as the artic silver 5 that I use on my custom built computer it's conductive.

Also as far as the temps....if I take apart the laptop were is the CPU located is it easy to find lol or I have to look around (first laptop) FYI I also have some thermal paste remover and purifier (Artic silver) makes good SH**. Also is it normal for the fan to keep going on and off I've been looking at HWMonitor and when the temps creep up after a min or so the fan kicks in turns off fan after 1min then 1 min passes by as fans are off and then it kicks in again.
