    Hello everyone,

I need help figuring out how my set up works. I am running a MX15 with a Nvidea Geforce GT 240m. I played Crysis 2 at pax on an alienware laptop and fell in love with the visuals. Now, I want to play it on mine, but im not sure how my graphics card stacks up to the system requirements needed for Crysis 2. According to steam, Crysis 2 needs a NVidia 8800GT with 512Mb RAM or better, ATI 3850HD (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) with 512Mb RAM or better. So how does my GT 240M stack up to this? Will it meet these requirements?

    Thanks

yes you can play crisis but on lower settings, crysis 2 isn't as demanding as the original.

Not really. You probably can at low settings. The GT 240m is the weakest of all the graphics options of the lot. To play Crysis 2 I'd recommend upgrading to a 5850 if you have some money. If you are lacking. I might be able to sell you a GTX 260m for cheap depending on where you are from.

I have the GT 240m and I can play Crysis 2 at medium settings with full resolution, or high settings if I lower the resolution.

I went ahead and bought crysis 2. It runs fine at 800x600 resolution, but of course it doesnt look nearly as good as I want it too, so i am looking at getting the 460 GTX. However, if I replace this card, will it void my warranty for my laptop?

Depends on who you get it from. From Dell then no, the card carries its warranty as well as your laptop but in any case, if something goes wrong, just put back your old one and they will never know.
PS Make sure you look for the 460"m" or you'll end up with a massive door stop if you don't have a Desktop PC.

I talked to dell and they have the 460m for about 400 and the 5850m fo rabout 270. Since im only a causal computer player, im leaning towards the 5850m. Will this give me a significant improvement over the 240m?

A HUGE improvement over the 240m, and a substantial improvement over the 460m.
