Just got mine today. Bios is A9, installed microsoft security essentials as Antivirus and started dl some games.

I got it with an i3 processor, and I have an i7 on the way from ebay.

I love this machine. It is beautiful, starting with the packaging. Compared to my SXPS that it is repacing, it is AWESOME!

My spacebar looks identical to that so I can tell you that it's a common problem. And good to hear some satisfied owners for a change.

Love the M15x. I bought mine last fall and have been 95% satisfied. The only things I haven't been happy with are:

    1) No upgrade to new mobile quad cores. When I bought my M15x, I knew the 2nd gen quad cores were right around the corner, but I needed a laptop right then. A big factor in the decision to get the M15x over an XPS 17 was the upgradeable processor - then Intel goes and changes the socket. Not really Alienware's fault, that's just how it is.

    2) I've had generally bad results from the Dell 370 bluetooth card, seems to be a piece of crap. I'll probably have to buy a dongle one of these days.

    3) Lack of digital display ports. Seriously, VGA? On a laptop this high end? I run 2 23" IPS monitors externally, and the one on the VGA is noticeably lower quality than the DisplayPort->HDMI->DVI one. Probably my fault for not checking the specs more closely - I just assumed a laptop this high end would have a couple of HDMI outputs.

Anyway, minor nitpicks really. Overall, it's a fantastic laptop, works perfect for my needs, and never fails to get a second glance when I pull it out at a meeting.
