yeah, my old beast has just got updated from GTX 260m to GTX 460m, :D but the weird problem is no sound. I thought it is probably connected to the hdmi port of 460m, so please let me know how to set up to get normal sound in win 7 system?

    much appreciated!!

460m is officially supported for m15x, shouldnt be a problem.

what devices do you have under 'playback devices' in 'sound' options. which one is selected?

4 Digital Audio(HDMI) unplugged, which is kinda weird, and IDT High Definition Audio selected as default device. And if I want to test the IDT, it goes "Failed to play test tone". What is the reason? Thanks!

    Try uninstalling the audio drivers.

I need the sound from IDT, not the HDMI output from video card. I did uninstall the audio driver from HDMI device, but it automatically reinstall itself.

I have two audio cards now:
IDT @ Intel 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset HD Audio
    Nvidia GF106 HD Audio Controller

My alienware does not have HDMI and motherboard is also not HDMI-supported, how can I just use the original IDT card not the Nvidia one? Uninstalling IDT drivers is helpful?

download official IDT drivers from dell drivers site and install
