    Hey Everyone,

I used this forum about a year ago and received a ton of help. Hoping to get lucky again. I have an alienware m15x that I bought a year ago. Recently when I start up my laptop I am greeted with 15-20+ errors about missing files for a whole mess of different things. Different .dll files are missing etc. But even before that I noticed a lot of lag in how the laptop performed. It's always plugged in, I always make sure stealth mode is turned off and it's set to run on high performance all the time.

I was recently able to get in to the starwars the old republic beta and it played like absolute garbage. Compared to videos i've seen and how it handled for me I know it was my laptop with the issue.

I've got the i7 1.6ghz processor 6gbs of ram windows 7 and I forget the name of the video card. I believe it's the 260m? I know I upgraded to the best one the laptop could support. I know it's not my internet as I receive a 50mb/s connection.

I'm thinking I will need to re-install everything, however I remember when installing the drivers for everything there's a certain method you need to go through because people were having their keyboards fried and the lighting system quits working. was hoping with any solutions on if I re-install windows i'm hoping someone knows what order I need to reinstall everything from dell to make it function correctly afterwards.

    Thanks a lot!

Hello, Naturalx, nice to see you remember us :D
If you want to start fresh here are a couple of threads that will really help you:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...er-install-order-guide-alienware-systems.html

To avoid this, always install the same or a newer version of Command Center, never go back to an older version.

Your lack of performance might be linked to high temperatures of your components (CPU, GPU..), monitor those while you play and if they are reaching high values you should consider opening your laptop to clean the heatsinks and change the thermal paste on your CPU and graphic card.

Also, there are good news: newer and better video cards have been tested to work in the M15x, see:
