Alright the first one is, i have a Core i7 740QM @1.73GHz, how much do you think i should over clock it?

Second, i want a new video card, because i have the NVIDIA 260m, and its not really getting the job done how i would like..I would like the 460m, but i'm not sure where to find it.

Third, has anyone ever tried to take out their optical drive and perhaps swapped it with an ssd and have two hard drives? just an idea i thought would be cool to throw out there.

    Thanks alot guys!

Unless you use SetFSB, the 740QM is not overclockable. And even when doing so, it won't yield you that much results in games.

460m's are available on eBay as well as in the market place. I have a sale pending to some one on one and if that falls through, I'll turn to you. Have you considered other GPU options such as the 5850 or the 6970m?

Yes many members have swapped out their optical drives with a HDD caddy and it has worked fine. My advice is to put the SSD in the main slot and the old harddrive in the caddy. Having an SSD as an additional drive whilst having the system run off an ordinary HDD is pointless and a waste.

Yup I would say, go for the ati mobility 5850. Cheaper and more powerful with really easy overclocking using the amd catalyst center. I have been using this card for last 1 1/2 years and I am very happy with the card.

Yes and I agee the 5850 is way faster than a 460. I am replacing mine with a 6970M however as I'm greedy for more speed. My 5850 was replaced less than a month ago and I could let you have it for a reasonable price. PM me if interested. I also have a new i7-920XM ES which is overclockable.

Alright thanks guys! Is there a guide any where for switching the optical bay for a hard drive? And I've been a nvidia fan boy for a while, but the 5850 sounds much better to me now. @usmc362, i am definitely interested for a possible buy, but it is not allowing me to private message, im not sure if it is due to the fact that i just created a profile or what.
