So I just noticed this a couple of hours ago, and have no idea why this is happening, I had headphones on whilst watching a movie and a high pitched sound started coming from my laptop, I moved slightly and the sound went away and came back again after a few mins, I tried checking out where the sound was coming from but it went away before I could figure it out, and its happened atleast 7-8 times in the past 2 hours, which is getting a bit irritating..anyone else had this kind of problem before?

Hmm, if it's near your GPU, it may be what's referred to as "coil noise". Basically, it's just the noise from the capacitors n' such. Sometimes it's more prevalent if you OC your card. Does this only appear during high activity with your computer?

    i'm thinking it's a cap.
usually when they're on their way out.

although i will ask, was the noise coming through the speakers / headphones or the laptop itself?
if through the speakers/headphones does it happen when the alienfx are on or off?
