So im going to 10th grade next school year, and im gonna be using my laptop quite abit. So i am wondering how long your M15x has lasted on battery only and running word. I personally never use it without the cord connected, i guess if the battery life is REALLY terrible i could carry the cord with me, but i would rather not... Just FYI i have a 6 cell battery.

With a properly adjusted power plan and a healthy battery you should get 2-2.5 hrs I guess. Will also depend on whether WLAN is on or off.

I'm in the exact same boat, M15x, having to use it in college classes next year will be tough. Had an m11x for some of this year, and that worked great.

If I were you I would buy a macbook (air, pro or just regular) and use for studying since the battery will last all day, and they are portable as hell.
And then I would buy a nice gaming desktop to game when you arent at class.

This is of course only if you havnt bought the m15x yet :)

I'm not that rich, and I hate Mac. All the programs I use for CAD and what not are Windows only. I love iOS, for the record, so you guys don't hink I just hate Apple in general. Anyways, I usually used the m11x plugged in in class, since the lecture halls have outlets every few seats, hah. I think my biggest problem will be going from 4 pounds to 9, even though it's really not that heavy.

Another awesome point of the 9cell is that it makes using it on your lap, actually possible. Without the lift, it's almost impossible to not cover the vents with your legs.

I got mine from Dell (Korea) for $99. The one's on eBay are very suspect.
