Posting another one yet again. Since I've finally gotten my computer to work the way I want it to. I thought I should speed it up some more with a SSD. I've had plenty of SSD's in the past, but have not picked one up aftermarket.

I need something that will fit into a $400 dollar budget, and will deliver the best speed, most space, etc.

    What are some suggestions?

Nice..That's half price of the Samsung one offered as an upgrade on the dell-uk site! Less disk space maybe, that's where external drives and in my case media servers comes in handy.

Definitely upgrading to an SSD early next year after my (growling and snarling) Puppy arrives. Looks a good price for you, you'll have some extra cash left too

Edit: read that as £'s instead of $'s... Ok that's a fraction of the price of the Samsung SSD Dell offers! :D

you think that is a hell of a price i can snatch that drive for close to $200ish

grab the drive for $299.99 add a filler for a .01. You can get a coupon from the entertainment book which is $30 off $300 for tiger direct. They are selling 2010 edition for like $8.

Use some sort of cashback like "Bank of America add it up" or "Mr rebates" which is 6%.

    $300
    -50 rebate
    -30 entertainment book coupon instant
    -16.2 cashback
