Sorry to open this topic, i think this was open too many times before, but i promise to delete it after my answer.
That's very important to me, cuz i found a I7 920XM for about 190 USD, but i've no money now thats why this is important
THERE'S A REAL DIFFERENCE IN MY GAMES BETWEEN THIS PROCESSOR ?
If the difference is too big, i'll sell some stuff to buy it, but just if there's a real difference....
So help me guys..

Thank you again !

Comparison of Mobile Processors - i7-740QM vs. i7-920XM:

application·····i7-740QM·i7-920XM·difference·
32-bit single···3082·····4322·····40%········
32-bit multi····8930·····11916····33%········
64-bit single···3.15·····3.87·····23%········
64-bit multi····dd·······dd·······dd·········

However, it really depends on the game itself. These values are only valid insomuch as the limitation is actually the cpu. A gpu upgrade might do more, or an ssd especially, if you don't have one already. Also, tried overclocking yet? The difference between these two can be bridged quite a bit if you have good sample. There's also a used 920xm ES on ebay for $150, so ...

There is no overclock for 740, and 920 has seen stable 3.2ghz in all 4 cores vs 1.73 of the 740. thats 1.5ghz diff

The cpu itself is locked, but you can still OC if the clock IC on your mb is supported by SetFSB. This is a bit of a crude way to OC, since it'll overclock everything, including gpu and hdd (not a bad thing, per se). Effective though, but use it with care and baby steps ...

There's certainly a difference, although a better gpu would do more. Unfortunately that'd be a lot more expensive than the 920xm ... so ... $/buck the 920xm isn't a bad choice. Again; game dependant. You may want to check cpu-heaviness of your current favourite game(s), would be shame if they'd all be held back by the gpu instead. All things considered; oc with setfsb first (if possible) and see if you can life with that performance gain. If not, consider that engineering sample and recoup a bit by selling the 740qm. Keep in mind that there's still a lot possible with a new gpu, so may want to save up for that in year or two.

One thing you may want to check before purchasing that xm; its TDP is 10W higher than the 740qm. Using a wattmeter while benchmarking would give you the current maximum draw from the outlet (which ≠ psu output), it shouldn't be over ~30% the maximum rating of the psu as that'd indicate its running near its ceiling (efficiency drops with higher output). And, of course, check temperatures; if you're already at 90° max. the xm would downthrottle to prevent overheating. It is after all not a more efficient cpu than the 740qm, it's only clocked to run higher (and a wee bit more cache).

You should get a 920XM and overclock it to 3+ GHz. As it stands, the 740QM is a massive bottleneck for the GTX 765M. I know because I used to own a 740QM and it bottlenecked even my much-slower 5870M (about half as fast as your 765M).

Huge difference. The XM chips are leaps and bounds above the QM chips even the 840qm is far inferior.

The worst sample 920xm is capable of 3.2ghz across 8 threads the best up to 3.6ghz. Higher on less cores. The 740qm never gets to even 2ghz.

How bottlenecked you are does depend on the game and graphics settings but yes these days it is paramount to own an XM if you intend to game with a modern gpu in the M15x.
