Alright, so about the same time last year I purcahsed a m15x,
    (i7 720 (1.6ghz, 260GTX M, etc.)

The point is, when I first purchased the system, the CPU's four cores ran idle at between 40 and 60 degrees C.

Now, one year later, the CPU is running idle at between 70-90 degrees C.

I'm just curious if this could be dust build-up, or if it's another issue.

I don't want to unscrew everything for a clean, I've got a 3 year warrenty I don't want to void.

    Any suggestions?

repaste your cpu and gpu will help (i use mx-4), also, re-apply thermal pads and clear the vents. In my knowledge, those things won't affect your warranty

really sounds like it needs a good clean to me if you have never opened and cleaned it before, use a can of compressed air and clean the fans and vents, then check your temps.

Inap's advice is awesome. Yeah, 70-90 is dangerous. Mine generally idles from 40-50.
