I've been reading that installing an old command center would break my motherboard if I've upgraded the CC.
But now I want to restore my M15x with the dell datasafe thing, so is it safe to do that?
I forgot whether I had upgraded my CC or not. I looked at the file properties is says 2.0.10.0, I think the version on the dell website is now .54 but is my version already upgraded enough that it would be unsafe to restore?
Edit: Never mind, I tried it and it's fine

After using Dell Data safe to restore your laptop, immediately uninstall the old CC and download the new updated version of CC.

Having the old CC for a couple of minutes won't do any harm to your mother board, I guess.

If you restore the system via recovery partition you won't do any harm since the firmware of the controller doesn't get flashed. (You don't actually install an older CC, you only copy the program files to the disc).
