I am having trouble running certain games, mainly starcraft 2 and Rift. WoW is easily handled on ultra settings but the main problem is like my framerate is just terrible in SC2 and rift for no reason. No stealthmode is not turned on, i have to use throttlestop to be able to play SC2 and rift on ultra settings but then my computer easily will overheat and crash.

Here are my specs - Intel i7 Q740
    Ram - 4gb
Video card -ATI mobility radeon HD 5800

use throttle stop and gpu-z to make log files and upload them here so we can see what is going on.

Cant do much when you dont list what driver you have installed.

    What driver is currently installed?
Have you tried other drivers? If so, which ones?

Also, make sure you pay attention to your GPU-Z log to see if it's getting locked on 2D clocks (300/400) or video clocks (405/1000 or 500/1000). If you're running stock boot clocks (no Overclocking) then you should clock up to 625/1000 (with a voltage change from .9v to1v)

Also, your framerate on all ultra settings in SC2 for the ship should be around 30-40 fps. With many units on screen and shadows around you'll find your fps dropping below 25 fps at times. So if this is not to your liking, then sorry...either OC to eek out a few more fps or turn off indirect shadows and turn down your shaders (especially these) and lighting. If you're playing Terran, then particle physics like sparks can hurt your fps too.

Rift has has nutrious ATI fps issues. They seem to have gotten a bit better for me in this recent beta.

Ultra settings with shadows off. I get 35-50fps. In a heavily populated rift I get 17-25fps.

Make sure you turn shadows off. They will destroy your m15x. Literally. It will burst into flames on your desk and possibly burn down your house, or at the very least kill a house hold pet.
