Hey guys! I've posted here before when I had some questions about my Alienware m15x and I figured since my old post was so old I should probably write a new one. (I'm still sort of new here so I don't exactly know the rules or what to do when it's been so long and you have a new question)

Anyways, I have a AMD 5000m GPU (A lot worse than what I thought it was, I originally thought I had the 5770m) So like my old post I was interested in an upgrade from it to the 7970m and I found one on Ebay for about 350 which is sort of a lot of money but I've saved up a good bit but the problem with this is that the 7970m doesn't come with the X bracket or the heatsink and when I asked them in an a email if it would still work with my own x bracket and heat sink they said yes but I don't wanna really trust a ebay seller so I decided to come to you guys since I had such amazing people help me before. ;D

You would use the original heatsink that came with the M15x. As for the x-bracket, most likely you will need a new x-bracket that is compatible with the higher wattage/size AMD cards. I would look into also getting IC Diamond for thermal paste, also look into Thermal pads for the memory chips+mofsets.Hope this helps.

Lol I had better empty it. The card has been sold for quite some time sorry!

Take the 680m it is the better card. Especially at the same price.
