I'm not a technical person, I'm not too bothered about saving £70 or so because I'd have to pay someone to do it for me.

Black, I wish they did it in white because recently everything new that I own is white (new white watch, new white car lol). I think it just looks so sleek :).

I hope it arrives before the 24th lol.

I ordered mine on the 30th July (from the UK too), and original ETA was 18th August (the first date that they had given me).

Had an email last week to (from UPS) to say that it should be here on the 11th, but there tracking is a bit pants, it still says its in China (and hasnt been updated / changed since the 5th). Waiting is definatly the hard part!!

I'm in the UK and I ordered mine last week with an EDD of August 19th - I really want it sooner :p

    Ordered:
    Intel® Core™ i5 Processor 540M(2.53GHz,3MB cache)
    4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
    1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 5850
500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW (DVD, CD read and write) Slot Load Drive
Intel® WiFi Link 5300 a/g/n Wireless LAN card
    6-cell 56Whr Lithium Ion battery
15.6-inch Wide Full HD Display (1920x1080)

Cant wait, and hopefully its as awesome as i want it to be :)

figured I'd not get blu ray reader - as i can pick it up if i need to after (also i dont currently own any blu rays...)
was gonna take the top end nVidia - purely on price and knew I wanted a good gfx card, but then noticed it was the 5850 i was missing out on...hope i made the right choice by switching to it :D

Cant wait for it to arrive - and i find myself checking the dell website every day, just to see if its changed state/date.
    I'm like a (27year old) kid at Christmas :D

Grats, I was going to miss out on the bluray as well but I decided to go for it and get the 740QM over the 620M.

Good move on getting the 5850, it's the best card you can get for the M15X I think.

Lol, I really hope someone is home when it arrives :(. Currently in the Work in Progress status. I doubt I would be lucky enough to get it in 10 days, that would be awesome. It makes me laugh when people try to tell me I've just purchased an over-priced machined, ugh that really annoys me.

Many people have never seen an Alienware. Open your M15x next to their laptop and turn it on. It tends to revise opinions.

Yeah, they're all just following hear-say, they even tried to tell me that Dell were a bad company even though I've personally never had a bad experience in like six years, they even replaced two laptop chargers and I think one was out of warranty. I only ordered it yesterday and I'm feeling impatient, luckily I've got a few parties so I hope to get so wasted I forget it's coming lol.

Well finally my UPS tracking has changed from "In transit (china)" to the Netherlands! Its been 'stuck in China' since the 5th, which I had read it stays like that. Its due tomorrow, and I'll let you know if it arrives (which it should do, not worried that its currently in the Netherlands, that standard for a parcel company).

Looks like a lot of M15Xs on their way to the UK right now :p

    Mine:
    Nebula Red
    Core i7 740QM
    4096MB 1333MHz
    500GB (7,200rpm)
    1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 5850
    1920x1080
    9-cell battery
    Intel 5300

Ordered mine on the 3rd. EDD of 18th August. Status is shipped, tho Im getting it through Walsh Western. They suck. I get error messages everytime I try to track where it is.

ukera, when you say engraving, are you referring to the name plate? If so, unfortunately we in the UK only get a Generic Name Plate.

I didnt get any option on my name plate, so just expecting it to be blank, seems thats all we get in the UK...

My specs are pretty much the same as yours, an i7 740QM, ATI 5850, 4GB memory, 320GB. I only went for the 1600 x 900 res screen and standard DVD RW.

Yeah the 900p screen will probably give you slightly better battery life and doesnt really produce a noticeable difference on the M15X screen. I got the full HD and Blu-ray cos I plan on attaching it to my 50" TV screen :D

Pffft, booked today off, as that was the specified delivery day given to me by UPS, and I checked the delivery status this morning to find it has now been moved to tomorrow (Thursday). Will have to phone my manager and see what I can arrange (if I can swap my days off). Suppose its my own fault, thought everything was going too well.

Annoying thing is, is that I work right next door to the UPS distribution centre  , so my laptop will be sitting next door to me, and I wont be able to get it till tomorrow!

Mine has also arrived this morning :D Very happy!!

The issue I had is that when I logged into Del account management and checked m delivery through there it stated it was being delivered through Walsh Western, and offered me a (dud) link. I received an email though from UPS saying they had scheduled the delivery on the 11th (but this was a day out), but I could track the progress through the UPS website (with the reference numbers that UPS supplied).

So basically, ordered it on the 30th, and it arrived today (12th). Will keep my fingers crossed for you (Ukera) that it lands sometime next week :D

    Boz.

PS, just wating for Bad Company 2 to install so I can give it a little 'test' :p

    I'm jealous too :'(

atleast mine has finally moved to "In Production" today.

I was kinda hoping they'd have it shipped to me by this weekend (btw EDD is 19th August ie next friday) as folks appeared to be getting them super early but looks like it wont be - and any other day next week will be useless to me as I'm out and about with work all week (there will be someone at home to pick it up.....though thats even worse! they'l have my M15x AND I WONT)
Maybe I'd better "work from home" all next week just incase
    ;)

I'm surprised at how late yours changed, mine went into production after one day. The production stage is probably the longest I'm guessing.

    Sucks about that delay, Weevee.

    Anyways, So far:
AlienFX is so awesome, stands this thing out a mile. I'll really have to be careful at uni. I put on the rainbow freelancer created and its just WOW.
My m15x Dancing to Ingrater's plugin was again, freakin awesome!! +rep
The display looks amazing, Ive just watched a Blu-ray and it just looks sooooo...yeah.
The Facial Recognition is pretty damn good actually, seems to pick me within 2-3 seconds average.

EDIT: Sorry posted my desktop ones earlier lol. These are the right ones.

    Windows Experience Index
    Processor----------------------7.1
    Memory------------------------7.4
    Graphic------------------------7.2
    Gaming Graphic-----------------7.2
    Hard Disk-----------------------5.9

Installing Bad Company 2 atm, I'll post more when(if) I can get my hands off that. Any specific games you want me to try out? Let me know.

I'm shocked that Windows doesn't see a difference between 740qm and 620m regarding Experience Index. I got the very same points.. interesting

EDIT: x3k5 the first ones didn't make sense to me, I knew something was wrong xD

MW2 if you have it I guess. I'm glad to hear the bluray looks sick, I cannot wait to try it out. Let us know what the gameplay is like in your post PC-intensive game. Also is the 9-cell battery annoyingly large?
