    Hi all,

I have just recently noticed that my laptop won't detect my optical drive; and I have this error message "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" shown in the Device Manager.

I have tried updating to the latest driver, but it says it is up to date.

I have tried uninstalling it and scan for hardware changes. But it fails during the driver installation process.

I have not touched any items in the registry. My optical drive is a HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GA31N.

    Please help, thanks in advance,
