Hi all, looking to get a new gaming laptop.
My last gaming laptop was an Alienware 17 purchased new in 2013, absolutely loved it. One of my kids killed it (orange juice), and I've just been using a macbook pro for the past few years.

Looking at Dell Canada, I can buy an R1, R2 or R3. Kind of narrowed it down to the R1 and R3, with the following specs.

    R3: $2400 Canadian + tax
    Vid - RTX™ 2060 6GB GDDR6 (OC Ready)
    ram - 16
    processor - i7-10750H
    screen res - 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz 7ms 300-nits 72% NTSC
    hd - 512gb

    R1: $2300 Canadian + tax
    Vid - GeForce RTX™ 2070 8GB GDDR6 with Max-Q Design
    ram - 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 2666MHz
    processor - i7-9750H
    screen res:15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) 240Hz Anti-Glare IPS, Narrow-Border Display
    hd: 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD

Seems like the R1 has the better graphics card and refresh rate, the R3 has slightly better processor and of course more up to date form factor (and supposedly some better cooling for CPU). The $100 price diff doesn't concern me.
Any huge reason to choose one over the other??

Also, I seem to remember in the past you could wheel and deal a little bit with dell, to the point where people were recommending specific sales agents to talk with. Is that still a thing, will they negotiate a little bit on price?

    Thanks!
