Don't think it'll work. The M15x has trouble even getting the 470m to work completely. Just get the 6970m as it performs nearly just as well.

Might work, can't say for sure until anybody tried this... The reason I didn't get a 485m was simply the price, way too expensive compared to a 6970m.

Hmm, yeah. But don't expect the fan to work with the 485m. Thhoug when I think about it they're working with the 470m... lol. So you might have a chance.

Some Chinese tested during this March.

Same problem as that of GTX470m on M15X.

A pity that they just gave up and didn't try what svl7 had done on GTX470m...

Didn't you flash a 460m vbios onto it to get the fans working though? I don't know if the 485m can run it being a different arc.

No, this wouldn't work. A 460m has a different architecture than a 470m. 460m is an underclocked desktop GTS 450 where as the 470m is an underclocked desktop GTX 460, GF106 vs. GF104 architecture.

I had to modify the 470m vbios to make it work at higher speeds than 2d clocks.

I have compared the vbios of these cards.

    485m vs 470m
    191byte different and 63809byte same.

    470m vs 460m
    60156:58620 byte different,
    3844byte same.

Yes, of course they're different. 460m, 470m and 485m are all totally different. Each has a differenc architecture, core count etc., what do you expect? :)

Edit: 485m seems to be GF104 as well, this explains the smaller difference, but this also means that you probably have to expect similar issues with the 485m in the M15x (just like with the 470m)

    Google can: Google Übersetzer

They seem to about some weird stuff... but it may be because of the translation. They say the 485m needs the HM67 Mobo, which of course isn't true... it's an MXM card after all.

But as said, since it seems to be the same architecture as the 470m, you have to expect similar issues.

I read chinese, they're only speculating, I don't think anyone has tried it but they have come to the same conclusion as here: seems to be the M15x was only make for the GF106 and not above.

Hmm, well it's a Clevo... they have a bit weird problems, similar but not identical. I quickly read through some pages and they say the have similar problems with the 485m as with the 460m in the D900F (the card doesn't get to full 3d clocks)
But they didn't really try anything with the vbios it seems, they only tested plug and play... And there's also generally some wrong information in this thread, about MXM etc.

Anyway, back to topic, whether the M15x really works with a 485m can't be said for sure until someone tried it.
I really think that it will behave similar as the 470m (unfortunately).... due to the similar architecture. But it's also possible that it works, no idea. Only way to find out is to try it.
