    Hey guys,

Thanks in advance for helping me. I've hit a wall with my Alienware M15X LCD replacement. I've followed all the directions on the service manual for taking out the screen (hard drive, ram, keyboard, monitor display, etc) but the directions stop as soon as you take out the physical screen from back screen panel. It does NOT explain how I take out the actual LCD screen from where it is positioned on the glass. As you can see by the picture it is surrounded by plastic columns which I cannot remove either - it seems to be one stationary unit with the LCD stuck inside and I cannot figure out how to get the LCD out of there. I have the new LCD screen ready to go and It is quite frustrating. For dignity sake, I hope it is not super obvious, but I've studied it for a while and just can't get it out. Would any kind/wise M15X compatriot tell me the secret so I can enjoy my amazing laptop again?

    Thanks a lot guys.

The only way for you to remove the LCD is to cut the plastic part out or use a solder gun to melt it out. I use to have a M15X and I replace it with a B + RGled screen and that what I had to do to remove the LCD from the glass.

I think the front plastic screen cover can be removed with brute force. I almost managed to do it but decided against it in the end. It is only glued down around the outside. However pull too hard and you will snap it somewhere.

With this panel removed you might just be able to extract the screen panel itself.

The plexy is glued with double sided sticky tape.
A heat gun at the lowest temperature can be used to melt the glue and gently pry the plexy as you go.
