Ha! I would like to enjoy it but the only cpu intensive thing I do is gaming and I haven't had good OC experiences thus far.

ssj92 how does this difference translate to setting up throttlestop? I have multiplier set to turbo (the setting below turbo is 16) and TRL 25/24/19/19.
If I'm accidentally setting the base multiplier higher and this is causing more throttling then how would I lower it to be more throttle friendly.

Thanks! It's definitely an interesting thing.

That's weird, so you can only increase the multiplier to 16 then just turbo? I think the 940XM can be increased by bios only then. I think the M17xR2 allows overclocking the 940XM, but I'm not sure if the M15x does (even with the unlocked bios).

Btw, which version of throttlestop are you using?

Using Throttlestop 5.0. Just tried to download 5.1 Beta but it says this version has now expired.
Hmm great so extra features that I can't use. Think I got a good deal for this anyway so not bothered :)

So, does anyone tried to put 675MX into M15x with 920/940XM and oveclock both or just to overclock GPU without XM CPU oveclocking?
Until somebody will not try, we will don't know if 920XM with 675MX cause throttling ...

If you OC the 675MX enough sure it will throttle. Basically if you draw more than 200W the GPU circuits get hit first so as to prevent the CPU from throttling.

There are ways to soften this effect but the only to avoid it completely the only way is to keep the whole system under 200W. Only a 50W GPU will allow you to OC the 920xm fully without any throttle. Even 75W will be too much.

I am hopeful for the 770M which is faster but more power efficient than the 675MX and thus with an undervolt a good fit for the M15x.

Gone off your 7970m King? The benchmarks I've seen show stock 770m very approximately 20% slower than 7970m. Probably overclocks well to be faster but with similar power draw?

770M is just 670MX re-brand ... Yep it will be more power efficient, but in total i expect less performance from 770M.

So the main question is: which card will provide more gaming performance without throttling. Wanna to upgrade 6970M to something faster, and don't know what to search. 7970M have good performance in stock, 770M and 675M needs some OC to reach 7970M performance.

What i don´t understand very well is the fact if having boost 2.0 will complicate the natural card´s oc, or we should need a modded vbios?
I mean that, if i can set the card ( stock bios) adding +135 hz on core with nvidia inspector for example, then, will i have the extra boost 2.0 from that clock´s increase too?, or this "feature" only it applies within the stock clocks???
And if in the future case i would want exceed the locked limits with an unlocked vbios, how will the damm gpu boost behave?? XD
To conclude, apologies for my poor skills to express myself in english , but i hope you have understood what i wanted to ask (more or less) haha
    Regards
