I know there are a thousand and one questions out there like this but here goes anyway. I recently purchased a M15X, i3, 8 gig ram, Radeon 5730, from a buddy of mine. Just after I did this I got into my first MMO type of game, SWTOR. Now I want to upgrade the laptop to handle SWTOR better. What video care can I upgrade to? Thank you in advance for any help.

Great I will check that out. I assume the threads on updating my processor are there as well? Would I have to change out motherboard? Thank you very much.

i will not mention i3 or i5 cpu's as i7 cpu's are cheap enough nowadays, but 7-720qm, i7-820qm, i7-840qm, i7-920xm (extreme edition and overclockable) and lastly the i7-940xm again extreme edition and overclockable.

basically first gen i7 mobile cpu's

Cheap value for money option would be an i7-720Q or i7-820Q and a AMD 6970m
More expensive would be a i7-920xm or 940xm with 6990m or gtx 660m
Most expensive option would be a i7-940xm with a 7970m!

Just an idea but I have an i7-720QM and a gtx 460m left over from my upgrade which I may be looking to sell cheaply.

    For the CPU, get a i7 920XM.

For the GPU, get a 7970M

Total cost would be around $600. You should be set for awhile with that combo.

Agreed its worth saving up to get the 920xm and 7970m combo if you can.

Otherwise I'm still seeing how well my upgrades work before parting with them but in a week or so I'll let you know by private message.
