No it won't work. Look at the back of the AW 13 and see the special port specifically for use with the Graphics Amplifier.

Firstly as fatboyslimerr stated and secondly the M15x is already fully alive :D The Maxwell 970M and 980M fully likely work fine and then there is the next gen AMD cards whenever they release. The dock costs money and to get a card that can outperform these mobile cards will add to that cost substantially again.

If it turns out that the Maxwell 970M and 980M work fine, the bottleneck will surely be the CPU. I'm afraid we can OC the CPU to the point that it draws too much power and generates too much heat in order to be usable and STILL not reach the desired performance. I'm telling you, the CPU will eventually be the death of the M15x.

I have to agree with chopsy. After reading svl7's guide, he does state that a volt increase should never be a long term thing and may cause unnecessary strain on hardware.
Granted you can probably pick up a new motherboard quite cheap if you fry the old one but still, overvolt shouldn't be long term.

Speaking of which, King how many mV did you settle on? 200mv? Do you think you could run x28 on four cores on slightly less volts?

Also...did everyone see Creed Unity system requirements? Recommended to have i7 3770!!!

    Fully alive ?
My M15X looks like a DESKTOP.
Can't use with battery cus is too slow, can't watch movies or just talk with skype, freeze everything, can't play TIBIA with battery.
Battery life just works for 1h or less.
Can't upgrade to Win8 because my GTX 765M doesnt work. ( i'm app developer and need Win8 for Phone 8 app development ) So, i'm stuck in w7 .
My SSD(60GB Kingstons v300) takes about 20~30 secs to boot with clean installation.
My MEDIA BUTTONS works bad, when button hitted on AlienFX it get hitted 3918732831x times, when click at Wireless button it write number 7 i dont know why, when hit sound button the controller just appears in screen when it want.
The touchpad is not smooth, that's make me sick so i just use mouse.
Yah, looks like alive with one step from death.
But thank you guys, you're all awesome in this forum!

Your m15x looks like it is in a bad condition. However you cannot assume other machines are like your own!

Several have installed w8 on gpus more powerful than the 765m. I will agree with you on the battery and trackpad, not that I care about those. I have long disabled the mouse pad.

^^ I'm with this. I've seen lots of m15x's in great shape! It may be that yours has a broken component or something. What have you tried to fix the issue?

Off topic in the thread - but a question I have an old M17x-R2 with unfortunately ATI cards... would they take an Nvidia pair? If so, what would be the newest cards in general (I realize this is somewhat BIOS dependent)?
