    Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums and I'm currently shopping for a M15X for a few main reasons:

1: it will be my one and only laptop. Mostly running Photoshop CS5(so I need a i7), all daily computing, and some gaming. I know it's primarily a gaming PC, but with its specs out of the box, I think it's a good 'book.

    3. I watch TONS of HD movies so the graphics card, NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 1GB seems very good for it, i think.

    2. My budget is $1,000 complete. I'm finding some in the $500-$600 range and I wanna upgrade the i5 from a2410M to an i7 2860QM, it already has 8gb DDR3

the specific model I'm a hair away from buying:
    AM14X-6557STB
    Processor: i5 2410M
    HDD: 750GB
    Ram: 8gb

So with this intro and probably half of you are already bored and gone,
What kind of motherboard is in this?
Can I just swap out the sandy bridge i5'for this i7(just drop in the i7)? What else should I do?
Do I need a processor that big or can I go lower Ghz?

Thank you for anyone that can answer all my noob questions!!!

You posted in the wrong forum...you need M14x and you posted in the M15x.

Side note the M15x is older, but will kick the M14x all over the floor cause everything is upgradeable..

Dropping $1k for a gt555m seems hardly worth it. Better off getting an M15x, or a basic M17x r3 or r4, and upgrade parts.
