It depends, 3D needs a few things, 3D enabled screen(120hz) + 3D supported graphics card(with appropriate supported drivers) + 3D glasses. So lets review, we have 3D supported gxcard, and 3D glasses can be bought. Now the thing is the screen. M15x does not come with 3D ready screen (its 60hz). Therefore you will need an external one. Now here is where a confusion comes to me. M15x has HDMI port of 1.3 version. Some says this provides too low bandwidth and only 1.4a can provide 120Hz. Some discussion had already been done at this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/515677-m15x-displayport-hdmi-port-dvi-120hz-4.html.
    So its your choice.

It's possible to play 3D games with 2 IFs:
    - IF you have a 3D TV connected to your laptop through HDMI ver 1.2 or above (i'm not sure abt this part, maybe 1.3 is more appropriate) and 3D glasses
    - IF you play a game that your ati GPU can process at 120 frames per second
