    Hi Guys,
New to the forums, have had an M15x for a few years now and I need a little help. I had a 9-cell battery which just bit the dust and the only replacement I could get was a 6-cell. The 6-cell only seems to charge to about 80% (sometimes 78%, sometimes 79%) and then it just hangs. My machine tells me that it is still charging, but it never goes higher than 80% and the physical battery meter shows it is fully charged. The machine is set to charge the battery to 100%. Also when I run on battery I can watch the battery drain, I get about 30 minutes of life before it's dead, which seems a little short for a new battery. I was thinking maybe I got a bad battery and need to send it back for another but I wanted to get some insight from the community before I go through the hassle. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Yeah, it seems like it is a bad battery. A new battery should be able to charge to 100%. Depending on what you are doing, you should get more than 30 mins of life. I would look into a replacement and see if you get better life. If you get a new one and still have the same issue, then it may be a hardware problem or something on your system using a lot of power. Hope this helps.

Can I ask where did you buy a new battery?

Definitely looks like a DOA battery. I would get a replacement immediately.

Thanks for the insight guys. I got the battery from "laptopbatteryexpress dot com" and I'm going to send this one back for a replacement. I'm not in the UK (but thanks anyway batfinks), if I get another DOA do you guys have another site you recommend buying from? I heard Anker is a good place to look, unfortunately I found that out after order this one.
