10h controls the FSB. What I find incredibly strange is how you're on QPC (Current CPU Frequency) and are able to change the 10h offset. I can only adjust the 10h offset in MMT or SLP and even then it reaches nowhere near the levels of yours. Guess I'll turn off turboboost and see if i see a change.

I open the latest SetFSB. I haven't sent the money yet, so it's not activated (I just click enter and it opens the program). I then open the dropdown and select the Asus N61JQ. I click Get FSB, and then it gives me a PLL error like it does whenever you use the wrong PLL.
I'll post screenshots if you really need to see, but I'm not at home and only have my M11x with me right now. I'll be back on the M15x in a few hours or so. -
Pay the man for his product.
I just sent him 5000 JPY. I haven't tried it without an activation code so that might be the issue. -
Its clear its not working for me as i can push it to 700 and it doesnt freeze.
This is very frustrating?!?!?!?! -
set it to 140Mhz and take a screen shot with cpuz.
-
Will do but which part to 140? the FSB or the figure next to 760? (ie 140/760)
-
Here's what I get. i don't even get any blue pll registers.

-
I meant the actual bclk frequency...it should be 440/760
-
Even at 140 it stays the same.

A couple of thoughts:
Try setting the number to 492
DON'T use the diagnose panel, just use the NORMAL BASIC ONE -
492 bumps it down to 489 by itself.
-
I shouldnt be able to do this

Your registers aren't populated. Are you using a paid version?
Make sure your power scheme is set to "High Performance" -
It is. if i change it to slp or mmt it will automaticly jump to 1626 mhz but i can up the fsb to 202 mhz and no effect when the system should die
-
yeah I paid for it but maybe it didn't register right but everytime I open it it doesn't ask me for a code.
-

If it has the Set FSB option then it's registered..
Try turning off your system and do a COLD reboot. (meaning let it shut down fully and be off for a few seconds before starting it up again).
Load up windows, open setfsb, asusn61jq, get, set number to 492/760, press set fsb.
That's all I did. Didn't change anything else in the program. It's defaulted to QPC and I didn't touch that! -
Na nothing, just says fsb is now 149.5 but when i put 492 it jumps down to 489.
Do you think that the MOBO's could be slightly revised? when did you purchase yours? mine is only 3 weeks old. -
I have one that is a month old and another that is 3 months old both with the 920 and it works.
-
I didn't have the time before, I'll pay him now and give it another try.
-
My board is a rev. 11 what's yours?
-
Mine's also Rev 11 (on the CPUz Mainboard page)
-
How do i find that? from Bios?
-
CPUz or everest
I guess it's time I stripped her down to find my pll. I'm jealous of your overclock.
-
You should have been prompted for an activation number. I think it may have to do with the version you downloaded. It won't ask you if you've done it in the past.
-
I have my cpu parked. any settings in your bios or is your cpu a qs chip maybe why yours defaults to qps instead of mms like ours?
-
Mine defaults to MMT but changing that option doesn't make a difference with mine.
-
Hmm that's a good point - are you absolutely sure you have the latest (113) version?
Don't go stripping it down, you'll probably find that you have the same ICS (PLL) as we do!!
I exported my settings, go to CREATOR and import it (not the zip, the .pll file inside) and try that..
What do you mean CPU parked? Did you apply the core-parking fix? (Meaning you're DISABLING core parking)
I doubt that would make a difference honestly, but if you have applied the tweak then you are in the same situation I am.
Mine defaults to QPC but changing it doesn't do anything either so I guess that's irrelevant seeing as it works for both Mandrake and myself.Attached Files:

I get an error if i import then try to get fsb!
-
You're using the free version I think.
I just tried it on the free version and I get an error too.
Then I went back to the registered version but it had changed to the free version.
I had to re-extract the newest version over it again and put my code in again.
If you've registered, then try that. If not, you'll have to register to get this working I'm afraid. -
I have the full version. Im emailing abo now and hes trying to see what the problem is.
-
Okay Mandrake, I gave Abo 1000 JPY. Now I just emailed him back with all my information, and I should get an email back with my code soon.
My motherboard revision is 12.
Edit: Abo must be getting a lot of business today! -
I'm guessing everyone who is having problems is having some type of Setfsb version issue.
-
Hmm, yeah I see now, I checked back to those screenshots..
Weird.. The PLL I uploaded was just the ASUS one we've been using but with the name changed (much cooler if it says Alienware)..
I've imported it and am using it on mine without problems. Strange indeed.
If you guys figure it out, please let us know here so I can update the first post if necessary..
Good luck!! -
Everyone thought setfsb was dead with i7 but he keeps it going.
-
Response so far from Abo
'Hmm..., PLL data setting is different.
Could you tell me the BIOS version?
And, Also the full model name? (alienware M15X ????)
abo' -
Hmm, did you send him a diagnosis capture?
I assume we are all using the A06 bios? -
Starting to think their may be different PLL's across the range of M15X's. Not be happy if thats the case.....................very sad indeed.............
Yeah ive sent him a few so far at his request. Yes im using A06 and board rev11 -
You know, you could try a different asus model just in case!
Abo suggested the 61 and the 73 - why not give that a go?
Don't up it more than 15%!! just to be safe
-
I'd call 5% safe not 15%. If anyone has low latency memory a 15% increase would probably fry it.
-
Na just get an error, not a pll byte error just a gobldygoop error with ?marks and such
-
Oops, yes - I am currently running at 15% (152.9MHz) but I suppose that's not to say that's safe for everyone..
I'm going to see how far it goes before a crash... -
Rub it in why dont ya?
-
one reboot later.. Ooh my head.. Okay so 15% was right on the edge. i've pulled it back to 150MHz where it seems comfortable.. If you call 80C comfortable that is..
-
I see there are people with mother board revision 11 have this working, but does anyone who has revision 12 (like mine) have it working yet?
I'm still waiting for a return email right now.
Also, I tried the other Asus PLLs already in there, and none of those worked. -
I noticed you are using 4gb ram what are you using Mandrake. Me and Craig have 6gb think the two diff. sticks is the culprit?
-
Now that you mention that, I have mine mismateched as well. I have a 2GB Samsung 1066MHz and a 1GB Hynix 1066MHz.
-
I had the same thought but dismissed it because the program affects the ICS clock generator. It is true that the different sticks could make a difference but it would crash or not clock as high rather than behave as if it has a different ICS.
That's just my guess though, it could be that! -
You'll start throttling at those temps. Check your CPU watts with hwinfo32.
I just took apart my newer system.....don't know what version it was.
2x2GB HyperX memory. I doubt that would be the issue but with the memory controller integrated with the CPU you never know.
