    Recently my GTX560m died so I bought an Nvidia GTX670M off ebay and installed the card and thermal pads. On boot up I get this message.

    GF114 P1314 SKU 2 VGA BIOS (HWDTAG)
    Version 70.24.1D.00.00
    Engineering Release - Not for Production Use
    Build Date: 03/03/11
    Revision Date: 03/03/11
    Copyright (C) 1996-2011 NVIDIA Corp.

    I Don't know if that's normal. I let it continue to my home screen. Fans are running normal and I recently tried to install the Nvidia Drivers 310.90 and it fail. I followed the Steps dutchess63 listed to mod the Nvidia drivers, like I did to get the 560m to work using my Hardware ID and it still fails. The Hardware ID is

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1210&SUBSYS_02A21028&REV_A1
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1210&SUBSYS_02A21028
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1210&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1210&CC_0300

    I used the second line of info (PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1210&SUBSYS_02A21028) to mod the nvam file. The install gets to the area where it shows that its updating the graphics Drivers but then fails. Any info would be helpful. vbios update? or directions to a thread that has the answer.

    Update:

    Updated the vbios from Here: VGA Bios Collection: Dell GTX 670M 1536 MB | techPowerUp
    and the Hardware ID Changed

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&SUBSYS_02A21028&REV_A1
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&SUBSYS_02A21028
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&CC_0300

    I modded the 310.90 Drivers file "nvdm" and still it would fail while the Graphic Driver load bar was processing. After a ton of reading I found that even if I do mod the files correctly it will still fail if you do not Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8. I followed the steps listed on this webpage: Updated: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8 | LaslowNET. Tried my Nvidia driver setup again and got the familiar warning. "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software." Clicked Install drivers software anyway. And it worked.

    Hope this helps anyone else having a similar problem.

    Dimmers work. VGA port works with external monitor and both run at 1920x1080 resolution. only issue I'm having is temps getting up to 80c while gaming but I probably need to repaste.

    View attachment nvdm.zip should be able to copy and paste

    %NVIDIA_DEV.1213.02A2.1028% = Section069, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&SUBSYS_02A21028

    NVIDIA_DEV.1213.02A2.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M"

    These were the two lines I added to the nvdm if the link doesn't work.

    I added this line to the bottom of the group listed as [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2]

    %NVIDIA_DEV.1213.02A2.1028% = Section069, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1213&SUBSYS_02A21028

    and this to the bottom of the group listed as

    [Strings]
    DiskID1 = "NVIDIA Windows Vista / 7 / 8 (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"

    NVIDIA_DEV.1213.02A2.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M"

    I do get throttling in Some games. I only have a few on the laptop at the moment, most are on my desktop because they require so much Hard drive space.
    1920x1080 resolution in all Games

    Planetside 2: Throttles Medium setting 20-35 fps Temps. Max 73c V Memory usage: 577MB
    Tera Online: Video Preset #5 35-43 fps *21fps towns Temps. Max 87c V Memory usage: 787MB
    Skyrim (w/ texture mods): High Settings 43-54 fps Temps. Max 81c V Memory usage: 1522MB
    Saints Row the Third: Medium setting 35-40 fps Temps. Max 78c V Memory usage: 758MB
    StarCraft 2 WoL: Ultra Setting 45-56 fps Temps. Max 84c V Memory usage: 892MB

    I'm not super impressed by this 670M. I am debating selling it already and trying out the 670MX. More Cuda cores 960 and 3GB Video Memory. Plus Kepler. I'm hoping to get most games to hover around the 50-60 fps mark on higher settings.
