    Hi all,

Currently have the 260M card and want to upgrade. Dell UK says that the only option from them is the 460M. Is that true or have I been given the runaround?

    TIA

You can ask for the 5850. Or you can try and ask for a 6970m. There are other options such as from ebay and Clevo resellers.

MXMupgrade.com will ship to the UK, but be prepared to spend about £390 for a 6970m.

Make sure you read the thread regarding what you need to know about using this card correctly as it's not a truly plug and play option and may not be for everyone.

You can get a plug and play 6970m from Dell, but it's pretty difficult to convince them to sell one to you in my experience thus far since it's not officially for the M15x.

I think that works out a bit more expensive, and you may well get hit with a VAT bill when it passes through UK customs too which will add 20%.

Yeah but I didn't get hit because I asked them nicely and they labelled it as a gift worth $50.

Give them the part nr., sometimes this helps... Part nr. for the 6970m can be found in the 6970m thread, link in my sig. Part nr. for 5850 can be found somewhere on this forum as well.
